Update From the Berlin Wall
I promised photos of her in the lampshade, so here you go. HOW PATHETICALLY ADORABLE!!!
We took her camping this past weekend, and she was a complete basket-case. Of course when we were walking around or at the beach she was happy, but just sitting at the campsite drove her into the woods in a crazed Thoreau-like manner. She even wriggled out of her harness and leash and started wandering off. << INSERT HEART ATTACK >>But Matt caught her in time. She was sick in the car again, but the vet at Petsmart suggested giving her 2 Benadryl an hour before riding in the car to cool her nerves. Has anyone else had success with this?
Here we are being all “Into the Wild.”
I’ve heard that we should see a significant behavioral change with her now that she’s spayed, and I’m starting to think that we’re seeing that. She’s been much more comfortable inside the apartment, roaming from room to room with us and rarely hiding as she used to. I’m reading portions of books by Cesar and also the Monks of New Skete (as recommended by a coworker) and I’m really agreeing with the monks and their philosophy of dog training. No big surprise there, as I dig monks (HELLO, DESMOND AS A MONK!!! HOW HOT WAS HE!?!??!). And it seems as if Berlin will do just about anything for a delicious taste of the Omaha Steaks dog treats that Matt’s sister sent to us from heaven above. Last night she learned “lay down” although quickly became overwhelmed with her success and jumped up on Matt’s ottoman — a cardinal sin that she was punished for. Punishment, of course, being a harsh “NO! BAD GIRL!” followed by a big hug.
As for Mojo, he continues to devise plans to thwart her passage into his domain - our bedroom. I often find him sitting on our bed with YOU DID NOT JUST COME IN HERE, YOU BIG OLE BLACK SWAMP THING! written all over his face.

Wow, I totally misread that post about the lampshade…I totally thought YOU were the one who had to wear it.
Maybe just wishful thinking
